Hull Construction

The first job was to complete the design and this is the final result. It will be made from fibreglass. the base and construct a wood outline ready for fibreglassing.

The Mould is made from MDF, the idea is to pull two hulls from this wooden mould, using one for the racing and a second as a backup if that is need I will then make a master mould from that one.
Start with a level base and build up the sides add the top for the lip and then sand all the wood, filling every hole and scratch to create a nice flat surface, the napply a couple of layers of varnish to give some added protection to enable two hulls to be pulled from this mould.

This is a great picture of the completed wooden mould.

Fibreglassing at the bottom of this page is some links to sites  detailing how to build up and used fibreglass. The Gelcoat, Tissue, 450csm, 450csm,450csm with reinforcements in the high impact areas to increase strength.
